Right vs. Left Handed Boomerangs

Did you know that boomerangs are designed specifically for right and left handed throwers?

Just like golf clubs, baseball gloves, or even hockey sticks, boomerangs come in left and right handed versions.

And just as a batter stands on opposite sides of home plate (depending on whether he is a right or left handed hitter), a right handed boomerang thrower will need to throw in an opposite direction of a left handed thrower.

A right handed thrower with a right handed specific boomerang will throw 45º to 90º to the right of the wind, while a left handed thrower with a left handed specific boomerang will throw 45º to 90º to the left of the wind.

When the right handed thrower throws a boomerang it will turn in a counter clockwise position while the left handed thrower will see the boomerang turn in a clockwise position.

So when you decide to buy a boomerang, whether it is for yourself or someone else, please make sure you know what hand the person that you are buying it for throws with.
